This environment is based off a concept developed by a good friend/ illustrator, Tannie Duong.
I initially started this piece by doing something different, by making an excel spreadsheet! Although I am so used to jumping right into blocking things out in Maya, I felt like for this project, I wanted to document things more thoroughly and get a better idea of how many pieces there were to this concept. If interested you can take a look at my organization spreadsheet that displays a bit of my preproduction set up. This took quite a bit of time to put together, and was very helpful for the rest of the production of the piece. But as you can see I stopped after the modeling phase, as I wanted to do a presentation for that phase, and leave Texturing and Shading as a future task when and if the time comes.
From there, I began blocking in the environment pieces, to visualize how the scene would look in 3D.
And when it was a a good visual point I then blocked out each model on my list within their own file and referenced them into the environment one by one.
